Save the Dates! October 23 & 24, 2020.
CAHNference is a free, virtual event for all hepatology nurses. Please share this newsletter with your colleagues.

Topics on the agenda dig into some of the difficult issues nurses face in today’s landscape – racism, overdose, and nursing through the pandemic – as well as more of what members have asked for on fatty liver, viral hepatitis, and nurse-led models of care. There will be tons of fun too with networking opportunities and plenty of door-prizes sourced from local, small businesses from coast to coast!

Registration opening soon. Register early to receive a special thank-you gift in the mail!

Three ways you can make CAHNference an inspiring experience

1) Present a case study or model of care. Speakers do not need to be CAHN members and will receive a modest honorarium along with assistance from CAHN to pre-record a 10-minute presentation. Contact us ASAP with your ideas or for more information.

2) We are also seeking nurses willing to share their COVID-19 experiences. Please send us a short 1-3 minute video (MP4) telling us how you are staying sane (or not) working from home, keeping connections while social distancing, working virtually with patients, or how you survived the great toilet paper shortage! Video files can be emailed to or sent using this free file transfer service.

3) Suggest a door prize from a local, small business in your neighbourhood to

4th Annual Canadian Liver Meeting

The Canadian Liver Meeting (CLM) is a unique collaborative meeting of the Canadian Association for the Study of the Liver (CASL), the Canadian Network on Hepatitis C (CanHepC) and the Canadian Association of Hepatology Nurses (CAHN). It provides an incredible opportunity for our colleagues to share what is happening in the field of liver health through various liver focused organizations.

CLM 2021 will take place on June 4-6 in Vancouver, BC. Remember to renew your CAHN membership to be eligible for travel reimbursements.

2021 CAHN Membership Renewal

Membership renewal reminders are emailed on October 24th. Renew before January 15th to help CAHN gain sponsorships and avoid membership lapse.

All nurses who work with patients with liver disease are welcome to join. Click here for a summary of CAHN member benefits.
