CAHN’s 2022 Annual General Meeting

CAHN’s AGM will take place virtually the week after the CLM on Tuesday, May 24 from 7:00 PM EST to 8:30 PM EST.

CAHN will elect three Board of Directors at the 2022 AGM. Please consider joining us as a board of directors or in one of the roles listed below.
CAHN is also taking nominations for Vice President, Conference Co-Chair, Membership Chair, Communications Chair, and Regional Event Chair. These positions will be appointed by the Board of Directors at the June 2022 board meeting. Being part of the Board is a personally rewarding experience. Please consider putting your name forward, preferably before May 24.
CAHN’s executive team warmly welcomes new members as well as long-standing members. No volunteer experience is needed.

CAHNference 2022 is being planned as a hybrid event in the fall. CAHN is seeking a Regional Events Chair to lead the planning of this event. Working with the planning committee and professional production company, the Chair:
- leads the development of an educational program that meets the needs of CAHN members
- leads the solicatation of speakers to present on the agenda topics
- reports the status of event activities to the board
- attends regular planning meetings via Zoom (frequency of meetings increase from once per month to weekly as we move closer to the event)
- may moderate sessions at the event
- drafts the event description and summary for the website
This is a highly valued and appreciated role within CAHN’s executive team. If you are passionate about hepatology and have ideas on how to best deliver a fun and educational agenda, please reach out to admin@cahn.ca. Ideally, we would like to have someone in this role within the next month.
The Canadian Liver Meeting

The 2022 Canadian Liver Meeting taking place May 13-15, 2022, is being planned as a hybrid event with the in-person component in Ottawa, ON. We encourage all members to attend either in-person or virtually.
The best value for nurses is to register as a “Joint CASL/CAHN Member”. To do this you must be an active member of both associations. The total cost of both memberships is $275.
If you are attending CLM in person:
- Become a CAHN member
- Become a CASL member
- Register for the CLM as a “Joint CASL/CAHN Member” usine the joint discount code

CAHN Member Benefit: for in-person attendance, CAHN reimburses CAHN members’ travel expenses up to $500 plus 50% of the Conference Accommodation rate ($249 + tax) for two nights’ accommodation (Friday & Saturday).
If you are attending CLM virtually:
- Become a CAHN member
- Decide if you would like to receive the CASL membership reimbursement benefit from CAHN.
- If yes, renew your CASL membership or become a member and register for the CLM as a “Joint CASL/CAHN Member” usine the joint discount code
- If no, register for the CLM as Allied Health/Nurse
- Register for CAHN’s AGM
CAHN Member Benefit: for virtual attendance, CAHN will reimburse members’ CASL membership fee as well as the CLM registration fee.
Attendance at CAHN’s AGM is required to receive any CAHN Member Benefit.
