The 2022 Canadian Liver Meeting taking place May 13-15, 2022, is being planned as a hybrid event with the in-person component in Ottawa, ON. We encourage all members to attend either in-person or virtually.

About the Meeting

The 2022 Canadian Liver Meeting is a collaborative effort of the Canadian Association for the Study of the Liver (CASL), the Canadian Network on Hepatitis C (CanHepC), the Canadian Association of Hepatology Nurses (CAHN), and the Canadian NASH Network (CanNASH)

CanHepC’s 11th Canadian Symposium on HCV and CanNash’s Symposium will both take place on Friday, May 13. The CLM Opening is Friday at 5:00 PM EST with CASL and CAHN’s programs beginning Saturday morning, ending Sunday at 1:00 PM EST.

Registration

The best value for nurses and CAHN members is to register as a “Joint CASL/CAHN Member”. To do this you must be an active member of both associations.

Step 1) Join CAHN at https://cahn.ca/join/. CAHN’s membership fee is $75.

Step 2) Join CASL by clicking the link and choosing the CAHN membership level. -> https://hepatology.ca/new-member-sign-up/. CAHN members may join CASL for a reduced rate of $200.

Step 3) Register for the meeting at https://www.canadianlivermeeting.ca/registration using the Joint CASL/CAHN Member discount code, CAHNCASLMEM.

Attending in Person

Joint CASL/CAHN Members receive complimentary access to attend Saturday and Sunday sessions.

You may choose to include the CanHepC and CanNASH Symposia on Friday, May 13 for an additional $75. This is the early bird rate if you register by March 16. From March 17 until May 11, the fee increases to $125.

Nurses who are not members of CASL may join the full 3-day program for $225 until March 16 then $275 until May 11 or the Saturday and Sunday session for $125 until March 16 then $150 until May 11.

CAHN Member Benefit: Regardless of your CASL membership status, CAHN reimburses CAHN members’ travel expenses up to $500 plus 50% of the Conference Accommodation rate ($249 + tax) for two nights’ accommodation (Friday & Saturday). Attending Virtually

Option 1: Attend as a Joint CASL/CAHN Member and receive complimentary access to attend the full three days virtually. CAHN will reimburse members’ CASL membership fee as well as the CLM registration fee.

Option 2: Attend as an Allied Health/Nurse and pay $90 before March 16 or $150 between March 17 and May 11. CAHN will reimburse members’ CLM registration fees.

Recognition Ceremony

This year’s recognition ceremony will be held at the Canadian Liver Meeting during CAHN’s Mixer on Saturday, May 14, at 5:30 PM EST. In these turbulent times, recognizing the amazing work our members are doing is more important than ever. Nominate a nurse you know and be entered into a prize draw worth $50!

CAHN executives are ineligible for awards other than the Distinguished Service Award. Executives may make a nomination; however, they are ineligible to enter the prize draw.

CAHN’s 2022 Annual General Meeting

CAHN’s AGM will take place virtually the week after the CLM on Tuesday, May 24 from 7:00 PM EST to 8:30 PM EST.

Executive and Board Nominations

CAHN will elect three Board of Directors at the 2022 AGM. Please put your name forward before May 24. You may also nominate a colleague or yourself at the AGM.

CAHN is also taking nominations for Vice President, Conference Co-Chair, Membership Chair, Communications Chair, and Regional Event Chair. These positions will be appointed by the Board of Directors at the June 2022 board meeting. Being part of the Board is a personally rewarding experience. Please consider putting your name forward, preferably before May 24.

Innovations in NAFLD Care Workshop 2022

Join this meeting from 6-7 May 2022 and discuss future prospects for NAFLD care!

We are proud to endorse the Innovations in NAFLD Care Workshop 2022, organized by Academic Medical Education in collaboration with Drs. Jeffrey Lazarus and Jörn Schattenberg.

The aim of the workshop is to provide a platform to bring together the relevant stakeholders and patients to optimize NAFLD care. The 2-day program will explore the different perspectives that healthcare professionals and patients with NAFLD face daily. It will highlight where healthcare providers and policy-makers can implement the most comprehensive models of NAFLD care.

Are you working on innovations in NAFLD care? Then make sure to submit your findings and share your research with your peers on 6-7 May 2022. Registration fees are waived for healthcare professionals from resource-limited settings and young professionals with an accepted abstract.
