January Liver Nurse News

Member Highlight

We are proud to congratulate our members Tamara Barnett and Karen Lundgren, along with their co-authors Kellie Guarasci and Anne Drost, whose article was recently featured in Canadian Nurse for their work with Cool Aid in developing and implementing nurse-led community programs. The article highlights how advanced practice nurses are improving access to care and delivering innovative, community-focused health services in Victoria, BC.

Both Karen and Tamara are long-standing members of CAHN, with Tamara currently serving on our Executive Team as the CAHNference Planning Co-Chair. Their leadership, dedication, and commitment to advancing nurse-led care showcases the meaningful impact our members continue to make across Canada.

The 2026 Annual General Meeting – Save the Date!

CAHN’s virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM) is on Wednesday, March 4 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM EST.

Members MUST attend the AGM in its entirety to receive travel reimbursement.

Save the date in your calendars and make sure you have a quiet, dedicated space to participate fully in this meeting.

AGM Registration will open on Monday, February 9, 2026.

CAHN is run by members for members. Education and patient care are our top priorities. To support this, CAHN relies on engaged nurses to keep the good work going.

This year, CAHN is launching its new Strategic Plan and developing work plans aligned with its key pillars. We invite members to review the Strategic Plan and consider how your skills and interests might align with CAHN’s goals.

Joining CAHN’s executive team, whether as a board member, committee chair, or committee member, is a rewarding and fun way to contribute. We are looking for people who can dedicate about two hours per week to help advance CAHN’s initiatives. All experience levels are welcome, and we value having a diverse team from across the country to help ensure educational gaps are bridged.

We are currently seeking additional board members, event planning chairs, and an awards and membership chair to join the team in 2026.

If you are interested, please indicate this on the AGM registration form or send your questions to admin@cahn.ca.
