CAHNference 2020 was a landmark event as CAHN’s first-ever virtual meeting. The theme Rising to the Challenge was fitting during this year of the COVID19 pandemic – also aptly, the year of the Nurse.
The Canadian Liver Meeting, held in Montreal Feb 27-Mar 1, 2020, is a unique collaborative meeting of the Canadian Association for the Study of the Liver (CASL), the Canadian Network on Hepatitis C (CanHepC) and the Canadian Association of Hepatology Nurses (CAHN). It provides an incredible opportunity for our colleagues to share what is happening in the field of liver health through various liver focused organizations.
Presenting the ABCs of Liver Disease; Dr. Aldo Montana-Loza illuminated Alcohol-Related Liver Disease with respectful treatment. Dr. Ed Tam brought tasty treats for us to enjoy while we contemplated treatment in Hepatitis B infected patients. We then welcomed our multi-disciplinary panel to share challenges and successes with treating our hard-to-reach Hepatitis C patients.
CAHN proudly hosted the first-ever nurse program at INHSU. Members, as well as nurses from across the globe, were invited to learn from international speaker, Dr. John Dillon as he shared the path to Killing a killer disease, HCV elimination in action
A partnership event with CAHN, CASL & CanHepC. CAHN sessions highlighted nursing approaches across Canada to bring HCV testing, linkage, and treatment. And a lively debate between Ed Tam and David Wong – full of good science, whit, and humour!
